ISSUES FOR THINKING AND SELF-CONTROL AT THE RHETORIC ACTIVITIES IN A NON-LANGUAGE UNIVERSITY

Abstract: the article substantiates the use of questions for reflection and self-control in rhetoric classes at a non-linguistic university. These questions are given in relation to various topics of the rhetoric course. Attention is drawn to the fact that at least half of the questions should be heuristic in nature, not only serve to test students’ knowledge of the topic, but to develop their thinking, develop the ability and need to express and prove their thoughts on linguistic topics. The application of this methodological technique in rhetorical classes will contribute to the development of students’ communicative competence. The methodical study shown in the article is a fragment of the author’s methodology of teaching rhetoric, oriented towards communicativeness and heuristic.
